We were delighted with the response to our 2008 writing contest, and the judges (Lord Grey of Codnor, Andrew Miller MP and Cheshire Life's editor, Louise Taylor) found it very difficult to select a winner as the overall standard of entries was so high.

Calling all Cheshire photographers - where is your favourite green space in Cheshire?
CPRE Cheshire wants your help in celebrating the diverse beauty of our wonderful county.
From the wilds of the peaks to the fertile plains, Cheshire has so many wonderful green spaces, and we want your help in recording them. We're not just interested in Cheshire's open countryside - if you have a favourite green space within a town - maybe a park or garden - we would love to hear about it.
Your photos will be added to CPRE Cheshire's online photo library, and twelve will be selected to feature in CPRE Cheshire's 2010 calendar. Winners will receive a free copy of the calendar, which will be available to purchase from CPRE Cheshire at £9.99., with all profits going to the charity.
To enter our competition, take a photo of your favourite green space in Cheshire, and tell us what makes it special to you in no more than 20 words. In order to do justice to your photo when it is printed out, we need a high quality image - you'll need to use at least a 2 Megapixel camera set to the highest resolution.
To enter, please email your photograph to us before the closing date of 31st July 2009, with the following information:
