Farm Details

The farm is open to the general public seven days a week and admission is free.  In the ice cream parlour there are over thirty different ice creams and sorbets.  There is also a tearoom, gift shop, play barn for under six year olds, outdoor play area for older children and a viewing gallery to see the cows being milked (times may vary, please phone for details).  They also have a selection of animals, including llamas, miniature donkeys and goats, and a Birds of Prey section (50 pence per person admission fee is charged).

Visit Details

The general visit includes watching a video in the ice cream parlour on request. Guided visits are called 'The Cow To Cone Experience'. The two price levels are £2.50 and £3.00 and they include a WFU guide around the farm, use of the education centre, which has interactive games, DVDs, activity boxes, and much more. Also included is entrance to the Birds of Prey section and an ice cream. The £3.00 visit also includes a talk from the falconer when in the Birds of Prey. The general visit takes no more than two hours. Guided visits take a minimum of two hours and a maximum of four. Included in the 'Cow to Cone' education centre is a room for lunches. Free cross curricular worksheets are compiled with the assistance of primary school teachers for Key Stages 1 and 2 which can be downloaded before the visit from their website. Visits can take place during term time only, Monday to Friday.

Booking Info

Two types of visits are offered. The first is a general visit where groups can have a look round and watch a video in the parlour. There is no guide or talk provided. Booking by phone is preferred a week in advance minimum. The second is a guided visit run by the WFU. Booking to be done via phone, a minimum of two weeks in advance, but the earlier the better as they can generally only accommodate one group per day depending on the length of the visit. General visits are free of charge with no minimum or maximum group size. Guided visits are £2.50 or £3.00 per child, and can be arranged for 10 to 50 children. There is ample parking for coaches in the car park across the road.

Risk Assessment

Available on request. The educational centre is not accessible for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
