Support the Fairtrade for Farmers Campaign

Today, 3 dairy farmers will go out of business. Three went to the wall yesterday. And another 3 the day before. Over 1000 dairy farms have gone out of production in the past year.

Support local dairy farmersEach one is a private tragedy for the farming families affected. But taken together, it’s a public disaster for our countryside.

 If this trend is not altered, the landscape of Cheshire will radically change, as our redundant green pastures are ploughed up.

 Cheshire’s  farmers are not being paid a fair price for the excellent food they produce, investing time and money in meeting the UK’s stringent regulations, caring for their animals and for our environment.

 If you care about our countryside, support our farmers by signing the ‘Fairtrade for Farmers’ petition, run by Farmers’ Guardian and Country Living magazine, and supported by Waitrose.
