CPRE's 80th Anniversary
Our Patron, Her Majesty the Queen, and CPRE both celebrated their 80th birthday in 2006. To mark the occasion, Her Majesty recently hosted a reception for over 500 CPRE volunteers and their guests at St James' Palace, and members from all over Cheshire were delighted to be invited to attend a bring a guest.
This very special event. marking 80 years of protecting our countryside, was also organized to thank volunteers who give so much of their time to our work.
Names were drawn from the list of active volunteers throughout the country to select a group to represent each Branch.
In line with CPRE's campaigning on local foods, regional fare from all over England was served, including English wines.
