Music lovers raise funds for CPRE Cheshire
Concert-goers in Chester enjoyed a musical journey through the British countryside with flautist Russell Gillespie and pianist Tony Hughes at CPRE Cheshire's Gala Concert on 28th November.
Russell Gillespie studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and has performed for many of the world's leading flautists, including Sir James Galway, Geoffrey Gilbert, Paula Robison, and William Bennett.
Having worked for many years as a freelance orchestral flautist in London and the North West, Russell now enjoys a successful and versatile career performing as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician throughout the UK, Europe and Asia.
He regularly performs with Tony Hughes, who studied the piano at Wells Cathedral School with Michael Young and went on to read music at Kingston University, and has performed both as a pianist and choral singer in such venues as the South Bank and the Royal Albert Hall.
Our thanks go to these talented musicians for giving their time to learn new repertoire in order to make the concert program so relevant to CPRE Cheshire.
If you missed this concert, don’t despair - CPRE Cheshire have another Chamber Concert in the pipeline; the Vale Royal String Orchestra will be performing works by Stanley, Ellis, Bach and Suk at Hartford School on 29th March, 2009. Tickets will be available soon.
