Cheshire CPRE's 'Buy Local' Awards - update

We recently wrote to entrants to our ‘Buy Local’ awards to thank them for their patience! The competition has proven so popular this year that the task of judging has taken longer than previously.

Our Buy Local Awards are designed to reward businesses that provide their customers with the opportunity to buy good quality locally-produced goods.  Buying local produce strengthens rural economies and cuts down on the huge number of "food miles" clocked up as food grown on our doorstep is driven around the country to be sold.

Judges have now drawn up a shortlist and will be visiting some of the nominees in the near future.

We will be holding a celebratory evening in early summer to present the winners with their awards, and all the businesses who have been nominated will be invited to come along.

We hope this will be a very enjoyable evening celebrating Cheshire’s fantastic local food community.
