AGM and talk by Dr. Hilary Ash: Willington Hall Hotel, 11th May 2022

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Hilary Ash will address our AGM at Willington Hall, speaking on wildlife and nature recovery.

Annual General Meeting: 2 – 4.30pm, 11th May 2022

Willington Hall Hotel, Tarporley

A short business AGM will take place at 2pm. Members are welcome to stay just for the AGM at no cost.

Speaker: Dr. Hilary Ash: Wildlife on your doorstep: we can help restore our wildlife for future generations

Following a short AGM, ticket holders will stay for tea and cakes and a fascinating talk from Dr Hilary Ash on the importance of wildlife protection and the role of nature recovery.

Hilary holds degrees in Botany from Oxford and Liverpool Universities, and worked as a botanical consultant until retirement. She is  full member of CIEEM. Her professional work included much botanical survey and management advisory work, mainly in urban areas, including wild flower habitat creation with organisations such as Landlife, Forestry Commission, Natural England and National Trust. She has been for over 30 years Hon Conservation Officer for Wirral Wildlife (the Wirral Group of Cheshire Wildlife Trust). She was awarded Cheshire Woman of the Year in 2017 for environmental work. She was given the  Green Flag Volunteer for the Year 2016 for her work in helping start and run New Ferry Butterfly Park. Wirral Wildlife holds the Queens Award for Voluntary Service, awarded in 2017.

Built in 1829 by Richard Tomkinson, Willington Hall it was designed by Nantwich architect, George Latham, in a style he called ‘Queen Elizabethan’. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens and tranquil countryside.
