Volunteering

CPRE Cheshire is a volunteer-run organisation. Without volunteers, we wouldn’t exist! So if you care about the Cheshire countryside and want to play your part in protecting it, you could find your perfect role here.

What our volunteers do

Volunteer activities include governance (through our Trustee Board), fundraising, providing specialist advice, investigating proposed planning developments and responding to consultations, managing our social media and website, running projects and much more. And we are open to new ideas – if you have ideas for activities we could do and that you would like to lead, we would be very happy to hear from you.

Volunteer roles

We advertise specific volunteer vacancies through our online volunteering hub.

If you’re interested in one of the roles, you can apply through the hub – it’s a simple process.

If none of the roles seem quite right for you but you would like to get involved – or if you have any questions about volunteering – then contact us directly on info@cprecheshire.org.uk. The PDF role descriptions are standardised for simplicity across the national CPRE organisation, but in practice we are keen to make use of people’s interests and skills in whatever way works best!

Note that due to the way the system works, vacancies are usually advertised by local authority area. In fact, most roles are home-based and cover the whole Cheshire region – see the area we cover.

Planning roles are usually more geographically focused, as we need people to be looking closely at particular areas.

Spotlight on our Trustee vacancies

We are currently looking for new Trustees to help develop and implement our future strategy, deliver our mission to protect Cheshire’s countryside, support effective and efficient running of the charity, and ensure compliance with governance regulations. We’re ideally looking for volunteers with previous organisational management experience, a passion for environmental and countryside issues, and a willingness to take a lead on projects. The Board usually meets 6 times a year, sometimes face-to-face in Middlewich and sometimes online.
