Could you be a CPRE Cheshire Trustee?

18th August 2026

We’re looking for people with organisational management experience to join our Board as Trustees. Help shape CPRE Cheshire’s direction, and be part of a movement working to protect the countryside you love.

The Trustee role

By becoming a Trustee, you’ll be helping deliver positive solutions for the issues facing the countryside and the environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Helping develop and implement our strategy and deliver our mission to protect Cheshire’s countryside.
  • Supporting the effective and efficient running of our charity.
  • Ensuring compliance with governance regulations.

You’ll also be expected to attend the majority of Board meetings. These are held 6 times a year (usually), sometimes face-to-face in Middlewich and sometimes online.

What we’re looking for

Our priorities for new Trustees include:

  • A passion for environmental and countryside issues.
  • A commitment to CPRE policies, campaigns and initiatives.
  • A commitment to active involvement including regular attendance at meetings.
  • Experience in organisational management and working in a strategic way.
  • Independent judgement and a creative approach to problem solving.
  • An understanding of the legal duties and responsibilities of a trustee, or a willingness to learn.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Only CPRE members can be trustees – but if you’re not yet a member, you can still apply.

Why be a Trustee?

Joining our Board gives you the chance to:

  • Use your skills and experience to contribute to the success of our charity and make a positive impact on the countryside.
  • Contribute ideas for projects and take a lead on delivery to see them through.
  • Meet like-minded people and be part of a friendly team.
  • Be part of an organisation making an impact at both local and national level.

How to apply

See CPRE Cheshire Trustee vacancy for full details of the role and a link to our simple online application process. Ignore the reference to Cheshire West and Chester. That’s just a quirk of the software system – the role covers the whole of our operational area).
