Response to Cheshire West and Chester Local Plan scoping document Sep 2026

This consultation is about the scope of the Local Plan; in particular what policies it should cover and what consultation methods should be used in preparing it.

In our response to this scoping consultation, we agree the Plan should cover all the policies suggested as well as a proactive urban regeneration policy to maximise development on suitable brownfield sties with good existing community and transport facilities and reduce pressure on the countryside.

We also agree with the consultation methods proposed but believe it is also essential to include the following:

• An easy to read FAQs section at each stage to signpost key information for those unfamiliar with planning.
• An effective online draft Policies Map at key stages which can be navigated easily by people without a high spec computer or strong IT skills, to back up paper versions which must also be readily available.
